I am a simple follower of Christ with a burden to share the things I learn with others.  I am often overcome with passion for things I see in His Word, or when His Spirit moves in me to open my eyes to see things in a more vivid way.  I make no claims to any special knowledge or insight, and I hope to only motivate others to seek God with their whole being and love Him above all other things.  Test all that you read here because I am positive I won’t always hit the mark.  But while you test, I hope you also taste.  “Taste and see that the Lord is good!” Psalm 34:8

My Faith Statement – (since this is the internet after all.. you need to know.)

  • There is a God -in Father, Son, Spirit – eternal – without beginning or end.
  • His first revelation is all of the created universe and all living things.
  • His second revelation is the Holy Scriptures,  a preserved witness to His unchanging character and love for us.
  • His third and most complete revelation of Himself  is in the Son,  Jesus Christ, who came and redeemed us from our rebellion by the sacrifice of Himself, and is alive having conquered sin in his perfect life and death in his resurrection.
  • His continuing revelation is His Spirit which He has poured out on all flesh.  He convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment, births dead people into life, dwells in them, and empowers them to do the will of God.  Jesus said He would never leave us or forsake us.  I believe that the presence and working of the Holy Spirit can be as real in the here and now as Jesus was in the flesh to those that knew Him during His life here.
  • The Bible speaks repeatedly of the coming “Day of the LORD” when He will come and pour out his wrath on sin.  He does not want any to perish, yet He will not allow the world to continue forever in a state of sin, which produces great suffering, pain, and injustice.   Nearly all New Testament references to being saved are given in this context, of a future escape from God’s wrath.
  • To receive this salvation of God means that we acknowledge and believe all that Jesus proclaimed concerning ourselves and Himself.  When this belief produces repentance and fruits of the Spirit, we have been born into God’s family, a spiritual reality, a New Creation.  A profession that does not produce grief for sin and a love for God leading to obedience is not genuine faith.
  • Jesus is THE Way, THE Truth, and THE Life.  This cannot be said about anyone else.
  • Jesus is enough.
  • When you love God with all your heart mind and soul, He will work in you and through you.  You will not have to reform yourself according to a list of rules but will produce fruit as you abide in Him.  Just as a branch does not strain to produce apples, you will be changed and produce fruit by beholding (abiding), not by striving.
  • Victory is not a hope, it’s a promise.  (stole that one)
